In honour of its sequel this week’s recommendation is: Daddy’s Home
Daddy’s Home
Recommendation: I didn’t expect much from this movie, the trailers looked fun but I had been burnt by fun looking trailers for comedies. I watched it on a plane and I laughed at most of the jokes and had a lot of fun. Daddy’s Home isn’t the most intelligent of comedies but its self aware nature makes it a fun time. Ferrell and Wahlberg have a fantastic chemistry as the Dad and Step Dad vying for the affection of the children but it is also the ensemble casting that helps make the movie. It might not be the best comedy you will see but it is an easy watch and sometimes that exactly what you need.
Synopsis: Brad Whitaker is a radio host trying to get his stepchildren to love him and call him Dad. But his plans turn upside down when their biological father, Dusty Mayron, returns.
Directed: Sean Anders, John Morris
Starring: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church, Alessandra Ambrosio, Paul Scheer
Running Time: 96mins
Rating: PG Mild crude humour, sexual references and coarse language

I was expecting it too be bad due to the reviews, but ended up enjoying it as well.
