Sometimes you just don’t feel like going out or doing anything on a Saturday night other than lying in bed watching a movie. These movies might not be specific to one genre but they usually have one thing in common, they are easy to watch. These new posts are recommendations for easy to watch movies that you might enjoy on you Saturday night in.
This week’s recommendation is: Dazed and Confused
Dazed and Confused
Recommendation: This is one of those movies I didn’t know what to expect going into it. I knew it had a cult following and was the break for several famous actors but that was about it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the movie. It didn’t speak to me on any real level, I didn’t grow up in the 70s (Hence Millennial Movies), We don’t have a hazing culture in Australia and High School was nothing like how the movie portrays it for me. Nevertheless I still really enjoyed this movie, it has a great soundtrack, it is easy to watch and it has one of Matthew McConaughey’s most iconic movie lines. This really is an easy watching experience, ideal for a Saturday night.
Synopsis: On the month of May, it becomes open season on junior high kids as high school students become hunters with paddle bats, welcoming the summer holiday in Texas. But what starts as an inevitable round of bullying for one junior turns into a life-defining night when an older teen takes him under his wing and introduces him to a world full of booze, love, youthful spirit and other intoxicating substances.
