Sometimes you just don’t feel like going out or doing anything on a Saturday night other than lying in bed watching a movie. These movies might not be specific to one genre but they usually have one thing in common, they are easy to watch. These new posts are recommendations for easy to watch movies that you might enjoy on you Saturday night in.
This week’s recommendation is: Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Recommendation: The director of Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Taika Waititi, is the director for the new Marvel movie, Thor: Ragnarok, so it seemed appropriate to recommend my favourite movie of 2016. This may be one of the funniest movies I have watched in a long time, and it still maintains its humour with every rewatch. The relationship between Sam Neill and Julian Dennison is fantastic, with so much humour and Rachel House is excellent as the Child Welfare Officer chasing them (No child left behind.) The movie also offers so incredibly beautiful shots of the New Zealand wilderness as well as a New Zealand sense of humour. I found myself quoting this movie over and over again due to how many clever and funny one liners there are. If you are looking for a movie to watch for a night in, look no further than Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
Synopsis: A national manhunt is ordered for a rebellious kid and his foster uncle who go missing in the wild New Zealand bush.
Directed: Taika Waititi
Starring: Sam Neill, Julian Dennison, Rima Te Wiata, Rhys Darby, Oscar Kightley, Rachel House, Stan Walker
Running Time: 101mins
Rating: PG Mild themes and coarse language
Rotten Tomates 97% – IMDb 7.9/10 – Metacritic 81/10

I’m not a big fan of comedy movies, but I have to admit looking at the trailer and after reading your review that I really want to see this one now. And I am a pretty big fan of Sam Neill so there is that. Thanks for sharing this one 😀
